Buying an Airey House?
Hi,
I am a first time buyer and have come across a house that is of potential intrest. The only problem being is that it is a Prefab house. Currently am at the early stages of research as to whether or not it would be a good investment. Essentially what I would love to do is to be able to turn the house into a brick & morter traditoinal house, i.e making it a perminant home. Is this really possible without knocking the property down as it is a Semi detached, or is it just not possible? Was really wondering if anyone has undertaken this process, or if its just an absolute no-no? Thank you.

Re: Buying an Airey House?
Hi this is easy if you have about £40k to spend. To cut a long story short, Find a company or structural engineer who's familiar with the PRC license. You can stay in the house . The footing or slab will be extended, then all the slabs will come off and all prc components will be removed, then it will be bricked and blocked to the license and when finished it will no longer be defective. THIS IS AS A SIMPLIFIED GUIDE ONLY - THERE IS A LOT MORE TO BE DONE BESIDES.

Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking, how much is a house like this going for? I'm only asking because I hope to sell mine. (also prefab semi, not repaired)
